Just this evening we got to talking about the fact that historically many of the Christmas traditions in America as we know them were developed during John Brown's lifetime. "Silent Night" was written in 1818, "The Night Before Christmas" in 1823, and A CHRISTMAS CAROL in 1843. Even the Christmas tree in America began in the 1830s. Made me wonder what, if any, Christmas stories from John Brown's own family there might be. Any references? Didn't come across any in a cursory search through Lou's and Evan's indexes. Can't remember coming across anything in our own research. Hope you had a great day. We're at home in the NY mountains with a freezing rain falling outside. It's quiet up here in the hills. love to you and Fred. –GregUnknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12863727575557866694noreply@blogger.com
