Treasure Thursday - John Brown Christmas Ornament

The treasure I am sharing with you today is a Christmas ornament featuring my great, great, great grandfather, John Brown.

The ornament was commissioned by the National Abolition Hall of Fame and features Joe Flores' unique likeness of John Brown. This image was used in the 2008 induction ceremony.

I spent the last fifteen years in Kansas and enjoyed watching the development of the Freedom's Frontier National Heritage Area - with all the both positive and negative feelings that were raised in the process. I was pleased to come to your site by way of the Treasure Thursday theme.

Neat! Thanks for sharing! ;-)

Dr Smith,

Thank you for visiting my blog.

Yes, the ups and downs of politics and public opinion do run high in Kansas. I was at the Freedom Festival in Sept 2008 and will be speaking and helping give tours of the Adair Cabin in Sept 2009. Mary Buster, who has direct ties to the Adair cabin is my cousin, and we took turns with the tours in the cabin.
